Got out again today with my buddy Buckleboy on our site that just keeps on giving. Dug this 1rst Reg. Artillery button, dated 1802-1808.
Alberts # AY20B is the first variation and I am quite certain the 2nd dug is the same. This one was dug about 5 yards from where I dug the first one. The picture with the white back ground is the one I dug today. I've included the first dug for comparison. Each shows a little bit different detail. They are pretty rough but hey, they are somewhere in the neighborhood of 210 years old after all :), Also picked up a nice sized piece of pottery, possibly a bowl. Thought I would include a picture of it as well. Cheers, Shane

Hey man, looking closely I think your newest button (left) is AY20A and the one from last hunt (right) is AY20B in Albert's book. GREAT, Early finds there! Still workin on the video. ;)

Looks good Shane. Congrats on another great button. It's a miracle that bowl piece survived the plow and disk. See you next week, Quindy.

That is just so neat! To think, a button lost way back then, laying there for hundreds of years and one can still read some of the details. It's part of what makes this hobby fascinating to me. To ACTUALLY have a piece of the history right here in my hands!

Nice save!

Happy New Year!

HH!
