Civil War carved lead trench art Middle TN.

[Mike N Tn.]

I cleaned a lead item I found and it looks like a C was impressed into the lead. I walked a long ways to find camp in a field near a creek in Middle TN.
Camp had been heavily hunted, just a house sized patch of iron. Not a house site I think, since iron was light. Also found a pocket knife. I’ll go back after rest of winter wheat is out of field.

UPDATE: I was told at the Middle TN Metal detecting club picnic that the lead item may be a bag seal for sending confidential documents between officers during the Civil War.
