The notched wheel item looks like an umbrella tip. Dman and I find them in CW Camps and picket posts. Great finds and Merry Christmas fromj Middle tennessee!!!

great finds ! i have also found one of those notched round things back a few months ago ;) they are from an umbrella and the notches are for the wires where it slides open and shut :) congrats

always nice digging cw relics at Christmas! Merry Christmas to you and yours. :)

Hello Tim
I’m a little new to this civil war relic hunting some please pardon the ignorance of my question.
The larger chunks of metal you show in your photo I’m I correct in assuming these are large chunks of lead that was used in the making of their bullets on the battle field.

I have another question also if you permit. I have found a bullet with three rings, with the number of these rings is this a way of telling if it was Union or Confederate?

Tom

Great looking finds there! Any button with an eagle on it is a great find! Congrats!

Looking good as usual! I am hoping the ground is still unfrozen this weekend so I can spend the whole weekend hunting. I have a free pass this weekend as its my birthday the Monday after!

Thanks Civil, someone else posted one just like it but he didn't know anything about who the bust is supposed to be, my buddy John thinks it might be Andrew Jackson. It's another relic mystery I guess. Have a great Christmas. Tim

Looks like a fun and successful hunt!

Tim,
Very nice CW digs. Congrats.
I thought that was the Christmas tree at your house at first. ;D
