Found this a while back in a area which I had found some Civil War items at what I believe was a Union camp site. Anybody have any ideas? It had a green patina when found.

You might have a bullet mold there. Can I see a photo of the other side, please?

I will have to grab another photo later but if I am not mistaken it looks about the same. I also thought it may be a bullet mold but the large ends are flat like a pair of tongs.

It looks like a scissor type candle snuffer, used to extinguish a candle without blowing hot wax.

:thumbsup:Thanks to all. Candle snuffer sounds good to me. I will have a closer look later to see if there are any makings on the other side

It reminds me of a tool that I used when I worked at a boot store. We used it to strech certain areas of the boot.
