Hello

Found this at a know Civil War training camp. The problem is modern day development is over the site.

Any ideas or comments on the following piece recovered? It is cast iron weighs about 10 pounds. Seems to be a handle of some sort.

Thanks

Jones

Noticed this Civil War cannon has the same like feature (don't want to draw false conslusions) but I'm not a cannon expert. Only had a 9 inch search coil (didn't want to bring out the Bloodhound to the Garret without attracting attention, bad hood) and this thing was deep about 10 inches.

Most Civil War cannon handles had a curve too it like the one in the photo and the photo of the Cannon you displayed for reference also has that curve too it. Don't think it is a Civil War cannon handle but anything is possible! Good luck with it 10 pounds sure is heavy had too be used for something big indeed.

Also too note it may not have been attached to the "Cannon" itself but it could have attached too the carriage somewhere.

Thanks:)

Your right it's to square cut and would imagine cannons where cast in 1 piece.
