I usually don't post about anything like this but its about time. The drama on here has gone far enough. I don't have a problem with any one here. The fact is its starting to get like a soap opera. We are here to enjoy out hobby, learn from others, teach the beginners and show off our finds. Besides that I think we all would appreciate keeping the rest of the opinions to private messages. Sorry if I'm out of line posting my thoughts. Ben

You went back and changed your post stating several things that were not true, misinforming fellow members, and telling me that I was basically an idiot that needed you guidance. I'm sorry, but I don't sugar coat most of the time. You're a liability with your keyboard and post count, undeniably misinforming potential greenhorns. Yes, people actually believe that other people are only credible if their post count is in the top brackets. You struck a very tiny nerve, and I gave it back to ya. Now you're calling me out in this post, so I am gonna help you with that going away party. And when you choose to blame others for killing the site, two fingers are points right back at people like yourself.

Honestly, I am not like this at all, but I get sick and tired of the pity party, blame game, bs.

TNet Mods, thanks for what you do. Delete this, please if it may offend someone. Oh yeah, it always offends someone.

Would have pm'd this, but he started it. LOL

It what way was my response to your statement misinformation? What the part of it being not jasper. If I would have blown it up and saw the bullseye pattern on it I would have called horn stone. That is the only error in my reply. Like I said go slap some oil on that point as I could care less what you do with it. You need to go to school and study reduction. You think oil and stones mix? You think there are no chemicals in cooking oils? You are mistaken. You fill the greenhorns misinformation when you said that. Yet you attacked me for it. Why because it truly was a dumb statement by you. So you have any idea or clue how many people pm'd me saying what you said was as idiotic as you made it sound. $800 was a conservative estimate and I would not expect that point to fetch no more then $1200. Yes it is nice but I've seen nicer sell for less. You have no idea of what the authentication process entails. If you did you would never have said slap some oil on it. You think once that is done you can soap it to get it off? Well you are mistaken. I find your statements hilarious and filled with absolute rediculousness that you are a liability when you speak. I'm not the only one several others think the same. They all said the same thing to me about your comment of the oil. Pity party please I'm sick of the fighting and hen pecking as you did when I was merely trying to help you. No you had to do your pathetic best to chastise me for that help. The only thing I had wrong was lithic......so filled with misinformation though. To bad about 99%of my replies are spot on. The very reason people pm.d me when you made your statement about oil on a artifact. Now did I ever wrong you I past life to warrant such a blatant attack? I think not so when you wanna pop off at the mouth make sure it is not spewing dribble. I attacked you first. You might wanna re read the first post I made to you ever. Look at your response to a person who was just trying to help you not make the mistake of slapping oil on it. No your response was an attempt to make me look like a idiot to others for that opinion. Which is a known fact in the collector world. Hey if that is what you want to do then have at it champ go slap some oil on those top shelf finds.......what a absurd statement. I'm the only one here who will tell it to you.

What does post count matter to anyone. It is what they say that matters. I've been here 4yrs and just broke the thousand mark for posts. Your statement of keyboard commando you might want to step back and review. It still kills me the misinformation statement and liability statement. All that from one reply to you. I've hardly ever see you post on this site and find your replies controversial and antagonistic if someone disagrees with your reply. So your paleo blade that you called it, so experienced you call it a paleo blade. WOW!!. I did not have the heart to tell you different shoot I would have been misinforming you when I said it was a Stringtown blade early archaic. Paleo lance...sorry not seeing it. How about you prove me wrong.....send it out for authentication and we will see who is right. That is a challenge!! I truly doubt your up to for fear of being wrong. Me well if I'm wrong well I admit it. I don't rip apart someone for there call or opinion. I merely challenge it. It is how they reply that will unveil the reply from me. Be cordial and if you attack like you did me well be prepared to be attacked back. I never sugar coat anything and the reason although it really was not a attack it was straight forward my post to you in the new point write up. It was pulled for being to straight forward probably to curtail your sensitive side. I could care less.

Not that I want to be a part of this but I see something that should be clarified.
It is very simple to isolate the preservitive chemical used in cooking and vegetable oil and cross reference that to a chemical analysis of a "swabbed" artifact.
I have a background in chemistry.
There is no reason if a proper testing lab is available that simple vegetable oil would make an authentication impossible.

Gator it is through experience that I said that. Unfortunately the authenticators are not chemists or do they have the proper equipment to break down those properties to determine if it is what they say it is. They will just kill it instead of speculating. The modern advancements are bettering authentication but I still feel there means of determining if a point is authentic needs a lot of work.

They should realize what you said as well. That would be something to look into to better authentication. I believe that what they do is right but it really needs to be looked over to better the authentication process. Instead of looking for mineralization and striation marks, hinge debris, and proper make. This is how they determine authentication. They have new techniques but the machines cost a fortune and most authenticators just cannot afford it.

I get what your saying.
I'm sure a university would have no problem providing an affidavit of their findings for someone to provide to an authenticator.
I've had carbon dating done this way. ...
Just a thought.
