Coal miners knife thing...

[bmelvin20]

Well I am really just looking for more information on this thing. It has two small blades that unfold.

I searched the net and found pictures of your find identified as a Coal Miners Key Chain double blade hawkbill pocket knife and made out of Mother Of Of Pearl.

You know what those were used for?

Cleaning your fingernails..

Seriously. My Great uncle had one.

Cool find.

That is awesome. I am trying to find a Date for it. Some way to place it's time.

yeah, Uncle Butch had his on til he died. Always cleaning his fingernails with it. That and one of those "wells lamont" squeeze lights with the donkey on it.

Funny how you remember that stuff.

Well I am happy to have added it to my collection.

Cool find.

Makes sense, coal miners and clean fingernails don't work together...

Cool find!

If a student carried that to most schools these days, they would be expelled for 10 days.

We live in a demented society.
