Would likely be very trashy, but I'm surprised an old location like this even still exists Jeff. I'm sure a detectorist that knew what they were doing could find a keeper or two that others have missed.

Thanks for posting the info,
Dave

if I lived nearby I'd hammer the perimeter.
don't know if hey ever had parades but it is most likely they did.
especially after the world wars.
and I'd Imagine those were The areas the Kids Lined

I completely agree Jeff. I think it's also safe to assume that this site being in plain sight, has already been pounded to death. But you never know what might pop up if you hit it after a few days of heavy rain.

as a Kid, This wood area to the Right along Yonkers Ave. would have been a Magnet

my guess the park pre-dates the civil war

Jeff, I'd be willing to bet this park used to be much larger then it is now. It looks to me as though large portions of the site have been lopped off with road expansion and housing development. It's always upsetting to think of what may have originally been lost here, but has now been taken away to a local landfill. :dontknow:

Yep Roads only needed wide enough for horse & buggy.
4 lane streets would have been unheard of

Here's a view from one of the side streets Jeff, it looks like this park sits on top of a natural rock outcrop. But what caught my attention was the rock wall and the old entrance way that's been filled in and the building rubble on the side of the hill.
