coin hunting

NOT me, Relic whith my mxt,it seemed to me in coin and jelery you have to trian your ear because it's the same sound,wy'll relic hunt ferris or is it nonferris mode only and it's alound churp. It's the repetable churp in a 360 degree turn whith the right VDI# and a high probbility bar that makes my day. liftloop

Hunting in coin mode only will have me missing many gold rings which ring up in pull tab and foil range.

I hunt for anything that might turn up. There are many delightful surprises just waiting to be unearthed. I do a lot of coin shooting just for fun, but when I get serious it's all metal and dig anything. Monty

i hunt in Jewelry mode unless hardly any trash-- then open it up!! ;D
Never know what you're missing.

I might start in coin mode the first time at a site or if I am limited on time. This worked great for the 1828 large cent (my avatar). Then I would go back and put it in jewelry mode to get the buttons and other goodies.

If I hunted in coin mode, I'd have maybe 50 finds this year. Would've missed out on many CW buttons, flat buttons, Valuable political campaign buttons from the early 1800s, suspender clips, CW relics, and maybe even a deep belt plate of the Four I have dug this year.

I dunno, you be the judge.

I have never hunted in coin mode only.
I usually hunt in all metal, and listen and look at the signals.
When there is too much noise I hunt in coin and jewelry or relic.

Thanks,
Mark

I should clarify, I don't dig 'em all. But I like to check through areas that have other metals even if I am mostly looking for coins and relics. Finding something good seems more likely around other stuff.

I've never dug in coin only. Some parks I've used coin and jewlry or a custom deep silver program, but other places I use relic mode.

I'll dig enough crap in a park until I figure out what the main junk is and then just not dig it...but I dont want to miss out on any rings.
