Hey all,

Excited to show another find. I’m not good with coins just yet. Any ideas on an ID? I think it says one cent on the back, and it’s dated 1884. The front shows someone holding something.

That is a dime. Seated liberty. Nice!!

That’s so awesome!!! Thanks for ID! Is mine silver? How can I safely clean it if if is?

Yep...she's silver. Nicely done!!! 🙌 You can try the baking soda/boiling water on tinfoil method to clean it up a bit.

Nice seated dime!! It is silver!

No way!!! I’m psyched! This is my third old coin ever. I’m going to clean it up. I’ll do the baking soda trick! Hope it works!

That’s a real nice old silver coin. Hope it looks even better after the backing soda clean up. Congrats!

Thanks! Did a couple rounds of baking soda to it last night. Definitely helped but only a little. There are areas that are still dark.

Can I continue to clean with baking soda till it’s gone? Or should I not keep doing it?

Thanks for the help! By the way, just tried to send you another message but it says your storage is full and you won’t be able to accept until you clear some messages.

Nice score on the seated. We soak our silver sometimes in Tarnex for a couple hours as long as the coin isn't a key date!!
