Just found this at a old colonial spot of my. I see writing around and some part of a wreath. Any suggestions on what it is?

Thats a tough one...the fact there is no sign of the shank would make me believe its a coin as well.

Could it be some sort of trade token? After looking at the pictures again I agree that it's not a button-it's either a coin or token.
