First target at a new sight was the flying eagle followed by the ornate ball (any ID info would be great). I foolishly moved further away for the next hour or so with nothing to show for it and returned to the little hot spot I had found right off the bat. Turned out the flying eagle cent was dropped along with 4 other coins, 3 IHPs and a 1874 Canadian dime as well as a ring of 10 Skelton keys, mystery lens item, and a ID tag for the Rowe's hotel. This was a local hotel that ran from 1874 - 1889. All of these items were in a 10x10 area at the bottom of a rocky embankment, I can only assume that the owner of these items slipped and fell dumping the contents of their pockets. Thank you clumsy stranger, your spill made my day and taught me some local history. I hope the losses of these items didn't cause you too much grief.

Really cool finds. Can't wait to see what the lens thing is. Keep us posted.

Leaving the hot spot to go elsewhere😂; human nature. I used to do the same thing fishing. Catch a few and walk around the lake. Didn’t stay where the fish were! Those keys are a great find. Congrats

Congrats on the spill, keys and viewer.
Top shelf hunt.

That is very cool! Congrats

Great day of detecting great finds about 45 years ago at a old school built in 1861 3 story school. This was in the 70s useing a coinmaster 5 geb first of the kind minerlized ground to about 3 inches. We found gallons of indians one thing I found a lot of there was printing press letters and a magnifier just like yours. If you lube the hinges it will last forever mine has. Thanks for making an old mans day.

I found a couple of Rowe's Hotels.
One in Burlington, VT, whose name was changed to "The Sherwood Hotel" around 1900:
Another in Camillus, NY, which held a meeting in 1852 that some people consider to be the first meeting of the Republican Party:

Hotel tags are so cool!! Great finds!!!
Are you familiar with them?! Am I right to assume this was for room 9? Seems like a lot of keys for one hotel room... Or would it be set #9 of keys that and employee would have.

Now that's what I call a pocket spill!!! What a great selection of finds. The key ring is something else...wow!
