Coins and a hook!

Hello Forum,

Went for a hike in the woods, and came back with these coins and a hook. Can anyone help me identify this hook? I’ve found maybe 5 so far. This one is in the best condition. I think there are three stars on it. Could it be military? Thanks for looking!

Yes, it is part of horse tack. The iron spring is rusted away. It is used to quickly transfer the rigging, I believe....

The hook hold a sword and attached to pants or a belt.. Another thread mentioned it on this site.
