Took a Christmas trip to my wife's parents in VA last week, and had some fun hunting an old plantation house. Found the coins there. Did not like it that I scratched the 1830 large cent! I had dug a lot of junk and odd pieces of copper and I got lazy and it cost me...lesson learned the hard way. Found the buttons (one with a "3" on it) here too. What is that button?

Also hunted a battlefield and found some bullets, and what may or may not be an artillery fuse? Thanks for the help with the ID.
Enjoy looking at everyone's posts, I have learned a lot...

Nice finds. That is not a CW fuse. You do however seem to have found a rare and very interesting CW bullet known as a Tranter. That is the 3 piece bullet you showed. Nice coins too. Go to virginiarelics dot com or relicman dot com and you can look through the bullets there. The one that looks newer is newer. Looks like a .38 to me.

Thanks for all the info, sure is nice having lots of experts so willing to share. I would have never known about the Tranter, will now do more research. Thanks to everyone.
Thanks also MM for telling me how to highlight, I know it was probably on the site somewhere, but who reads directions?
I will post new pictures of a shield nickel and a farmer's parrot shell story on my other post - "plantation house - the rest of the painful story."
