wow , what a find

Awesome dig. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I started digging those and they just kept coming. I'd probably pass out. I actually have dreams like that sometimes.....where you dig a hole and find a great coin, and then another, and another.....etc. I think I just let everyone see a little glimpse of my sickness.......thats right! I have dreams about metal detecting. Please tell me I'm not the only one. :tongue3: Even if i am, I really dont mind. I love this hobby! :headbang:

All I can say is WOW, for someone who did the happy dance your first post must have been while you were still in shock.
For reffrence my first cach I burried I put in a glass canning jar and it rang up tin also when I checked it, although it is full of coins, and other stuff (and I hope will be there for many many years).
I think the Glass insulates the conductivness, The tin in your case must have masked it.

Outstanding find!!!
Congrats.

How about some close up pics?

Steve

Thank you all for your posts :D . I think I`m still in shock, I gotta go back tomorrow and retrieve my boot. And yes I can get some close ups.

Great find! Even looks like one of the Morgans is uncirculated or close to it.
Did you have to clean them up much?

ps welcome to tn.

GOOD SHOT! Suggest you also look around for a foundation after it warms up/dries out a bit. It was a long way to the bank back then. :icon_biggrin:

Cheers, DR

Awesome find of a lifetime!!!!! :wav: :icon_thumleft:

Does the 1899 have a mint mark? If it does'nt it's a rare coin. Way to go Kane23

Hey alright CONGRATS!!!!!!! :D :D :D Looks just like the cache I found on an old farm just south of Burr Oak Indiana, I had 10 Morgans and 3 peace silver dollars (had to sell 2 1878 Morgans to buy fuel pump for car) in an old Ball Ideal jar, isn't that just about the best feeling you can get when you dug that baby up. Good Luck on your future metal detecting endevers, QUICKSILVER(appletree)
