So I went out coinshooting at a permission site again this morning with my trusty F75. It occurs to me that maybe I should be relic hunting instead. :icon_scratch:
I think I have a 2 ringer, a fired 2/3 ringer, a musket ball, part of a bell, a pair of glasses, a key, a buckle, 3 shotgun shell ends and 2 small bullets. I could use some confirmation from the relic experts and some help identifying the small bullets. If it is a 2 ringer, does that make it Confederate? I also found a watch of some sort but pretty much destroyed it with my Sampson.

DANG 777 GOT SOME INTERESTING FINDS THERE. THE BULLETTS ARE REALLY NEAT.

I was told on another board that I have a 2 Ringer and that it is Confederate! That is my first Civil War bullet and it's Confederate! I'm pretty pumped about that!

Nice hunt .
That large 2-ringer looks confederate to me.
From what I have seen, a lot of the confederate rounds are less pointy and more cylindrical shaped.
I don't get to dig a lot of CW down here, but all of my bullets are Union from what I can tell.
Im curious what the small 3 ringer is.

I started out looking for coins, but have really started to enjoy the relics as well.
Many of the larger bullets and buttons will ring up similar to dimes and copper pennies.
I would imagine larger relics, i.e. (buckles, breast-plates) would ring up like half dollars, silver dollars, or big iron.
When you start finding cw buttons and bullets, I would start digging everything.

Your Confederate 2 ringer is a Gardner.

I was told that the small bullet is a CW era colt pistol bullet. :dontknow:

Those spects cleaned up really nice, how deep were they?

Surface find with detector. They were really camouflaged in the dead grass.
