I went out today for only about an hour while the kids napped. Not much to speak of in the nearby pounded park I hit for about 50 minutes. Then I hit a solid nickel target on the lower side of the VDI range at about 4". Out pops a '45P war nickel. About a foot away I hit another nickel target. Pinpointed the depth and saw 4" and said "bingo!". Out pops a '43s. They're both dirty gals but I like 'em a bit grimy. That's my 5th and 6th silver nick for the year...

I wonder how many I would have if I dug all nickel signals?

Also found was what appears to be a breastplate but she's soaking as we speak.

Congrats! Those are great finds...gotta dig those nick signals!

Thx. Gotta love those war nickels - the only old nickels that come out shiny.

That was a well spent 50 minutes! Nice silver!
