My son and I got out pretty early this morning and hit a vacant lot.
Most of the time, these lots are nothing more than trash pits.
Today turned out to be a bit different.

Here is a picture of both our finds together.

My son absolutely killed it with 1 mercury dime, 2 Roosevelt dimes, a Walker half and
a Gold Coin inside a bezel!

My finds were less impressive but respectable. A single Silver ball and a Jr. G Man badge. Not pictured

After we got home, we cleaned up the gold coin and removed it from the bezel. The back side of the coin was blank with the word Italy stamped in it!

Oh well, maybe next time the gold will be real! Still, the day was cold but the finds were pretty hot giving us a high we won't soon forget!

Happy hunting everyone!

Team Ammo does it again! 🙌😁

That’s a great day!

Very nice haul! I just got to find me one of those Walkers.:tongue3:

The hunt sounded perfect and the high must of been awesome!!! Lol

LOL the high was out of this world. I kept looking at the coin while it was dirty and trying to figure out what it was. We took it to mcdonalds to get it under some water and of course...the bathroom was closed. We had to wait for them to clean it.

Once we got it under the water the coin gave up a date. 1676 and i was going insane. The only kicker was the bezel. it was not gold but considering where my son found the coin we concluded it might have belonged to a poor person who didn't have the money for a good bezel.

So, after a long 10 min drive to my son's house, we took the next step by putting it in the ultrasonic cleaner to see more detail and then got the coin out of the bezel.

Nothing like finding a blank on the other side. We assume the medallion is gold plated.

As a ex-addict, when you saw 1676 in gold OMG!!!, what you felt was that pure, 100%, uncut high!!!! But with every high like THAT.......the crash is BRUTAL!!!! Lmao

Wow your son is making a lot of us look bad lol Great finds good family fun awesome post

The finds you guys made are great, but what's better, is the quality time you had out with your son! :occasion14:

Dave

Looks like some great finds on that vacant lot. Congrats to both of you.

Sorry about the crash of fake gold, but at least one of your balls is silver :icon_thumright:

Heck, that had to be a fun hunt for you two.

Yes it was very fun...the look he had when he brought the coin over to me was one i will never forget! I saw that look one time before. I think Santa Clause was responsible for that one.

Cool finds, Congrats!! Better luck next time on the gold!!!
