So the cold temps are here. Frozen ground, when it warms up above freezing and rain, the creeks rise and are torrent's.
I have been working on my catalog, and going back through my records.
Here is a pestle I found back in 2003, the day after Christmas - Dec 26 2003. Its one of the smaller pestles I have found. It does not appear to be broken. The base is not dimpled and not exhibiting any signs its been broken. Hard to believe its almost been that many years since this was found.
Later hunts in this field I found 2 more pestles, a nice Snyder's, a slate preform for a pendant and other relics.
By 2017 the old farmer passed away, he was a nice guy. The guy who bought the place was remodeling the farm house a few years back. We were talking that when he grated the area behind the house he found 3 axes poking out of the dirt. They were nice axes. pretty average style of axes for the area.
I have hopes for this area this spring.
