The collective totals have been updated through the end of July for 2009. We are still well ahead of the 2008 pace by an average of 10 pounds per month. Nice job to all involved!!!
Please remember, even if you don't search often and your totals are minimal, it all adds up at the end of the month so don't be shy about reporting your monthly totals. It can be reported in this thread or in a PM which are always kept confidential. It is just for fun.
Through the first seven months of 2009 the group has collected 544.866 troy pounds or 6538.38882 troy ounces of silver. This averages out to 77.838 troy pounds or 934.055 troy ounces of silver per month so far in 2009.
This average per month is still ahead of the 2008 average which was 67.971 troy pounds or 815.654 troy ounces per month.
With silver currently at $14.16/oz (at the time of this post), this totals $92,518.20 silver value which averages out to $13,216.88 per month.......PHEW!!!!!! At this current pace that would put the year total silver value at $158,602.63 (est). Don't forget about the 5% LJ Silver Fund Foundation......ha!!!
Once again, just out of curioisty, I went back and combined the totals ounces for 2006, 2007, 2008 and YTD 2009. The total ounces in this time period is 27,272.15682 troy ounces. At $14.16/oz this totals $386,173.74.......just mind boggling!!!!
Once again, kudos on a very good year so far in 2009............. Keep em coming..........

90%'er's found = 7305 (2642.14545 ounces of silver, 40.41% of total);
40%'er's found = 24095 (3563.6505 ounces of silver, 54.50% of total);
Quarters found = 496 (90.19264 ounces of silver, 1.38 of total);
Dimes found = 2637 (190.76058 ounces of silver, 2.92% of total);
War nickels = 603 (37.22247 ounces of silver, .57% of total);
Dollars (90%) = 2 (1.54688 ounces of silver, .02% of total);
Dollars (40%) = 14 (4.4254 ounces of silver, .07% of total);
Silver Eagles / other US coins = (1 ounce of silver, .02% of total);
Nominated States coins:
Totals foreign coins: (7.4449 ounces of silver, or .11% of total).
The total weight of silver recovered (as reported in this thread only and PM's) are as follows.

To prevent confusion with troy pounds vs. avoirdupois pounds (our normal everyday weight system in the US):
1 troy pound = 12 troy ounces; 1 troy ounce = 480 grains, for a total of 5760 grains per troy pound;
1 avoirdupois pound = 16 avdp. ounces; 1 avdp. ounce = 437.5 grains for a total of 7000 grains per avoirdupois pound.
(1 grain = 0.0648 grams)
