Went back to one of my favorite colonial sites in Virginia and had an amazing hunt. Normally not into jewelry but that has changed with this find. This ring dates as early as 1600s to very early 1800s(would love to narrow date range) tested at 18 karat at jewelry shop. Amazing to see that in the hole, came out as you see it. Some other nice early relics with the colonial buckle and beautiful dandy button along with a few largies. I may need to dig more of those low number signals!!

Certainly looks like the real deal to me but Im no expert on early gold rings as they are so rarely found

Looks period, not sure how you narrow the date, I would have thought 18th C. But rings are not my thing.
Those that dig gold know not to dig numbers, only dig sounds, all of them.

That ring looks like the real deal! Maybe you can take it to a more specialized dealer to date and appraise it so we can vote BANNER1 CONGRATS
