COLONIAL BUCKLE PIECE'S,1822 LC,BUTTON....

Tried to get some detecting in before the Daytona Wreck Faired pretty good for a few hour's.I swear,I can go over an area a dozen times and come back the other way and hear something different.Gotta love it Hunted Sat. and picked up the button,buckle piece and pistol ball. Well Sunday I was running the same spot and got a funny "iffy" signal that was bouncing from 35 to 78 Same as some strap iron I've been diggin',well at 8" down another green disc appeared.1822 LC One of these day's this place is going to go dry Thank's for looking

Some more nice finds, assuming again you are hunting your property, if so, it would be nice to see a list of finds found once the area peters out for the most part.


Here is a blurp from CJ's buckle site about buckles:

SHOE BUCKLE SHAPE AND SIZE - a general guide only as there are obviously some exceptions to the rules.
Square - under 2 inches are early-18th century, over 2 inches are after 1760.
Rectangular - 2-2½ long up to 1760, increasing to very large (up to 4 inches long) from the 1770's.
Oval to round - 2-3 inches are more common from the 1750's.


HAT, KNEE AND STOCK BUCKLES - Generally these are less than half the size of shoe buckles and were rarely elaborately moulded. Unlike shoe buckles the spindle usually spans the length rather than the width of the frame.

Really nice finds. The LC is in great shape for Maryland soil. When I find a LC maybe 1 out of 5 is good enough to get the date. I'm sure there is some old silver in there somewhere.
