I went back to the "dandy button spot" which has been very good to me lately. I only get to stop shortly during work time but get finds every stop. Today I got a shoe buckle about a foot from where I got the dandy button a little while ago. Also got a great tombac button and a few other things today. This is the same area I got the 1850's pocket spill and the 1739 hibernia coin not so long ago. I wish I had time to hit the spot hard but I have a month left this year to keep hitting it whenever I go by for work. I added some photos of some other stuff I got farther up the area that isn't as old as the colonial stuff but worth posting. Any one know what the big copper pipe thing is? It was also very close to the buckle. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

Nice buckle. Your mystery item is the fore section of a colonial era spigot (barrel tap).

Cool. I was thinking a type of tap or something but I knew old. The buckle looks the same style as my silver knee buckle I found but seems a little bigger. Do you think it's maybe a knee buckle and not shoe buckle?

Nice colonial digs

Thats a good site you found

At the end of my work season there this year in that area I'm going to put up a thread of the total finds and photos from that spot. It's been good to me. I want to knock on the next house over also because you can tell that in the past it was all one big property.

Great digs. Glad to see that spot is still producing!

Sweet finds. I like the buckle.

Here is the buckle by the button for scale....

Great old finds.

Nice finds. Love to find colonial period items. Those tombacs are in relatively good shape considering age. Thanks for sharing

awesome buckle frame!, great finds ya made!!

Only had a few minutes but ran back down to where I got the colonial spigot and found another "what is it?". Looks like a hook or something. I'll try to wash it up later some. Any help would be appreciated....

Nice finds! That looks like a good spot. You buckle is definitely a shoe buckle.

I didn't bring the detector today but i just knocked on the door of the adjacent property and got permission to hunt it. Hope there is just as many colonial finds on the other field side of the stone wall! [emoji2]
