Detected a colonial site with Derek752, The same site that produced my first Continental USA Button. The site is very Historic and had lots of activity during the 7 years war as well as the American Revolutionary War. All finds were found on private property with owners permission. No clue on the small coin it measures in between 24-25mm, Maybe king William lll ??? and the button has something on it as well but I cant tell. The key is defiantly my best find from the hunt and is believed by Derek and myself to have some historic significance. Thanks for looking HH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11khbibJQ7o

Can't help with the coin, but the button appears to be a common pewter one of the period. I've found many of these on colonial sites and most have some kind of design (see pic below). Still a nice find, though, and you're definitely onto a good site.

That is one hec of a key! Great score and awesome finds!!!

Is there a design on the pewter button with shank? It's very typical of Rev War American military buttons.

Good hunt, that key is special.

Yes, just a typical civilian 'swirl/flower' pattern, it is Rev War period though.

It was a good day ! I'm looking forward to spring and getting the grass cut and the field plowed. Gonna be much more to find !

Great hunt! I'm not sure what to be fixated on the most--they are all downright exhilarating to me.

The button looks (to me) like it might have a coiled snake on it...?
