Went out this morning at a local park that I have not found anything older than 1900 era coins. Found a few 1940 wheat's, than got a signal bouncing from 39 to 37 which means silver to old copper. Hoping for silver I instead found an old copper. First glance I thought CT copper but further examination It turns out to be a Machlin mills half penny. And as usual it is fairly corroded and I cant quite get a date. But its a first for me. It is fun to research finds like this.

Nice find; I'd love to find a half-penny.
