Colonial goodies!! 18 buttons, 3 parts to cuff links, buckle, copper and MORE!!!

I went out to a spot right in behind where we work at in Winchester, VA today. Last Thursday I found a few early colonial buttons and colonial buckle. The goal today was to work through the trash and dig everything. This site is loaded with trash, modern bullets and pull tabs and twist caps. Going slow, gridding and digging everything sure paid off. I dug 18 buttons, a few with beautiful designs. The large button with the design on is probably my best colonial button ever. I also dug a worn colonial copper, but what makes it unique is it looks like they scratched an X into it. It's definitely of period because the scratched part has the right patina. I also dug 3 separate parts to cuff links. All with nice designs on them. One is broken in half, but still has the loop and metal piece that connected the two together. I also found a beautiful buckle. I've seen these posted and I have just fallen in love with them and wanted so badly to dig one and today I did!! I'm guessing these are some sort of shoe buckle, am I right? There was this pottery, or brick, clay? stuff all in the ground. I'm guessing it's pottery. Found an iron knife and also got a little CW lead that was mixed in with the bunch of stuff. This was an awesome day and surely wasn't expecting all of these good targets out of that trashy site!! Thanks. The buckle was definitely the highlight of my hunt and probably one of my favorite finds so far this year.
