Colonial Relic Hunt...Sword Guard...Another One off the List!!

I finally got out for the 1st time in over 6 weeks for a hunt. Went back to an area where we have hunted previously but there was one area that we couldn't hunt due to the long grass. Grass was down today so was able to swing the coil. Managed to cross another one off the list...18th century sword hilt (guard)!! I think it is French infantry which would fit right in with some previous items recovered from this site. Also got a few crusty coppers...1820 token is the only recognizeable one...a couple musketballs, a piece of cast off flint and a very small tombac shoe or breech buckle.

Probably the last hunt for me so I was glad to get another off the list!

That is one on my list too. Congrats on crossing it off yours! Nice finds! I hope you are able to hunt at least one more time yet. Thanks for sharing and making me wonder why I don't live in Eastern Canada.

Great digs Romeo....That's a great hunt in my books!! Funny I pick up a dagger guard (hilt) and you get the sword piece a couple of days later... I have 2 others just like yours and both came from a 18th century french site. Just wait to you see what I found in my finds that I didn't realize that I had until I cleaned off the crud... I'll post it in my previous post later tonight or tomorrow morning...
