I went with a buddy to a very old house site. One of those places that the colonial house is still standing and there is a ton of aluminum in the yard. After digging probably 25 aluminum signals, I moved to where an older house apparently was. The old garden bed of daffodils and snow drop flowers were still trying to come up this spring, lots of times old houses can be located by isolated flowers in the woods. We weren't there too long but went down the road to another colonial spot, but before we gave up on the aluminum breeding ground I found a high tone and came up with this rolled up early silver spoon. Looks like I'm going to be busy trying to straighten it out pretty soon! IMG_0753.webp This is the AFTER picture. The before picture is apparently corrupted. Oh, well.

Thanks all. Lots of potential there, but they just threw out their TV dinner aluminum trays for 30 years, till they went to plastic.

Basque-man- if we get enough aluminum we can make ...uh...cans? The aluminum is at least big, but that has to be dug because the one "funny sounding" aluminum can signal was a Rev War period brass plate! Just don't know if we're going to put the time in on the site or not. Too many places, not enough time. Might try the beach if the 1) roads aren't closed tomorrow and 2) the wind stops its howling. Lots of damage and one lady killed about 20 miles from here.

You guys deserve all the goodies you dig removing all that trash. Can definitely get tiring! Congrats on a super cool find Smokey!

I like the chase. Most times if I get one identifiable keeper, I'm happy. I like the chase, and the outdoors. Off to the beach today and an old house in the wind. No woods hunting, that's a good way to get killed today. Had two massive trees that were dead and threatening my shed go down and they MISSED the shed! Yippee.

Smokey that’s awesome! Congratulations!

I did get out. Two spots. Will post something tomorrow. Right now I'm so wired I can't type right.

Very cool find! Nicely done! Congrats and HH

I've found a lot of my Spanish silver, Half Cents, and Two Cent coins digging through aluminium signals. Nice old spoon!

Love the old spoon. Anything old makes me grin. You are a bloodhound for the old mate. Happy Hunting.

I didn't think cats were bloodhounds.:laughing7:
