Had a couple of great hunts at a Colonial site. Found some interesting items.

Five buckles, spectacle, big shoe buckle, a chape from a buckle (doesn't fit the shoe buckle) and a couple of smaller buckles

Chape is stamped "Turner" haven't found much on him, style dates as late as 1720 from what I find but the only Turner I found was in England and was later, end of 1700's.

Found two thimbles, one appears to be open topped, not broken.

A few plain flat buttons but did find a large ball button and one with a lot of silver left on it.

Congrats on the nice relics! :icon_thumleft:

Wow great relics thats really cool makes me wonder that one buckle looks like it could be dangerous to wear lol also seems like alot of buttons and buckles fell off back then lol just an after thought but /Well done thanks for sharing those cool finds Tommy

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Congrats on some great finds!

Really nice OLD finds!

Good show sir.

Everything that I found on this hunt was broken, but that's to be expected :BangHead:

I think the chape is late 1700's. A source, that I read, said 2 teeth means after 1720, and I just don't think there would be a maker's mark before the late 18th c.

We've already discussed the potential age of the spectacle buckles, so I'm most curious about the one that still has some gold. That style looks like 17th c. to maybe early 18th c. to me.

The soil on this site is incredibly kind. For that buckle to still have its iron tongue and gold plate is mind blowing.

Wow great finds particularly the spectacle buckle!!! Also the chape with turner stamped on it is really interesting it doesn't seem that shoe buckles have makers marks on em too often!

Very nice finds! I have a pile of chapes and none of them have a maker's mark. Very cool!

Awesome finds! Congrats!

Nice finds, especially the early buckles
