I was chased off this site on Monday after hunting for about an hour when a local resident made a fuss about me "hunting on a site that had a historically designated building on it." I explained to her that, "this is City of Oshawa Parks property and I'm allowed to hunt here." But she kept going on at me so I decided that it would be best if I left for now, as she was starting to get pretty excited . . . and not it a good way either! :laughing7: So Tuesday I contacted the City of Oshawa Parks Department and was told, "the building sits on City of Oshawa park property and you can do whatever you want there". So, I decided to head back there this afternoon afternoon and guess who showed up again . . . yup the same lady with her dogs! This time she didn't say anything to me, she just stood and glared at me for about 5 mins., I thought for sure there was going to be trouble! >:( This is the site were I found the brass Hat Pin on Monday, so I've included it here as well.

The north side of the property looks as if it was graded at some point in the past, as I found lots of modern coins here ($4.20). Nothing much of value here but some interesting stuff just the same. I was very happy to see the Horseshoe Brooch pop up, it's very well made and probably made of brass, but there's no makers mark! :'(

Have a great Columbus Day weekend everybody,
Dave

Ask the sweet lady if she is picking up her dog P--P on the historic site, then ask her if she is depositing it in an environmental fashion! :icon_thumright:

I'm so disappointed it's not marked with a makers mark though! :'(

Nice finds Dave :icon_thumleft:, but just for larks you should take some white pepper powder and liberally spread it all around. It will keep her and her dogs away from you :tongue3:

Glad you got the facts, and went back. I do not like overly "concerned" people, have run into a couple of them.

Hey, hat pin was my guess, but did not go back and recheck that thread.

It's a nice looking spot for sure.

I'd have said " Look lady, what's your real issue with me being here?" " I'm saving history in the ground, I'm not leaving any holes, I'm not bothering anyone. So what's the real issue you have with me being here? Or are you just one of those people that isn't happy unless you have something to gripe about?"

Thanks Rick, I'm always courteous to anyone who expresses interest in what I'm doing. ;D But this women started off by saying, "I'm not all that comfortable with what you're doing here and I think you need to stop right now!" >:( That's when I decided to contact the city to find out exactly what my rights were! Of course when I saw here again on Friday she never even said a word to me! :laughing7:

That's exactly what I wanted to tell her, but I didn't want to get into an argument with her. I find sometimes it's easier just to walk away for these types of people.
Thanks for posting bear! :icon_thumright:
