Combat Infantryman Badge

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Infantryman_BadgeYou don't find one of these everyday. I found this yesterday cherry picking at one of my permission fields. I joined the Infantry when I turned 19 for three years, but was never in combat. Almost tossed it thinking it was a piece of car trim! I never toss till I'm sure though. It was bent in half when I found it. Looks like the wreath is missing, but I did see one online with no wreath. It was originally painted around the musket. It looks pretty old, maybe WW2 era? It came from an old school site. Nothing but a field now and a lot of bricks. They said online there is a way to determine the age by the posts on the back. I've got to read more about how. They didn't give these away. Enjoy the pics. Best of luck to all! 015.webp016.webp023.webp022.webp 019.webp020.webp021.webp

I was formerly in the infantry and have a CIB. I never knew they used to make them in two pieces. Today it's just one piece but they aren't made of any special materials

Silver, and Military, very cool.
Not everyday, yeah I'm pretty sure first I've seen on here.

Congratz on that piece regardless of whether it turns out to be an EIB or CIB! That is one of my favorite dug items that I've seen in a while!
