Confederate Gold from the Civil War was Found in a Shocking Place

The excuse for admittedly using this site to distribute “misleading information” over the course of months was “Hay that’s how the game is played”. That tells me quite a bit about what direction the search was going.

That really pissed me off because many people were sucked into believing the story line (which was very interesting).

Who knows what really happened?

Why? To get them home ASAP where I can do expert butchering with no waste.

At today's spot price this nugget is worth $9,334,534 (melt )

It would be less that 6 inches on a side if a cube. Assuming it has some strange shape it would still be small but probably have places where you can effectively tie it and strap it to a small sled. The sled would help greatly in distributing the weight across the landscape. The trick I use with game that I would apply to this nugget is to pull the sled tied to your waist and pull the weight across your shoulders to lift some of it. I tie the rack to the line to my shoulders. I carry a padded strap for this. I have learned to use some length to stop the constant poking in the hinder :)

If you carry rope and an axe you can probably make a device without having to go home for materials or anything.

Couple of long branches for handles lashed to short cross members to secure the load. Length gives you mechanical advantage ( leverage) Think Travois:

I like the idea of the makeshift drag.
I might even go down to the dog pound today and get more dogs.
Let them drag it out.

They ain't going to tell anybody and the certainly ain't going to take off with it and keep it for themselves.

Give them each a big ole steak once that get it out of the woods.
They'll be happy

you Can Debate The Story , I Expect if true the Feds have shills to Follow & Refute the Story, However ...
Warning ! No Attacks on Dennis Parada (Finders Keepers) !

I have researched this gold story for at least 3 decades and there is no truth to the story other than it was just a story. No gold bars shipped and no gold bars lost.
Dent’s Run Civil War Gold
From what little research I have did today, the Dent's Run Gold buried did not happen during the Civil War. And I can prove it. But I am going to gather more facts. The San Francisco Mint only had about $321,000. in foreign bullion on hand at the end of physical year 1863. The SF Mint minted all its US Deposited bullion on hand $17,244,436. and $266,524. of its foreign bullion on hand only leaving $321,374. of foreign bullion still in the San Francisco Mint. This would only amount to 20 each 50# bars. The Dent's Run claim of 52 each 50# gold bars is 32 each 50# bars more than the San Francisco Mint had on hand during the physical year 1863. That tells you the trip of wagons of bullion across the country from the San Francisco Mint to the Philadelphia Mint through the Pennsylvania Woodlands did not happen.

Sorry in my mind, That Only Proves the Amount may have been Wrong or Exaggerated :coffee2:

if Someone Buried an Ounce of Gold in 1999 they may have said $253.00 Worth of Gold
If Someone Heard there was an Ounce Buried
They May Decribe it as $3348.58 Worth of Gold.
or a Gold Dollar !

If the Price of Gold Drops to $200.00 & Someone Heard about the $3348.58 Worth of Gold. They May think That's a Lie !
Or a very Large Amount :o

Or If Gold Goes to $50,000 an Ounce Which Price Would they Possibly Use.

Too Many Iffs :(

if the Story was Handed down for over 150 Years
with no stated Facts on Paper

Good Research sir

Sorry in my mind, That Only Proves the Amount may have been Wrong or Exaggerated :coffee2:
In your mind, you are denying the alleged facts of the legend on which the finder has based his claims and posted for years (52 bars of gold). Aren't you now attacking his credibility by challenging what he's posted for years?

In your mind, you are denying the alleged facts of the legend on which the finder has based his claims and posted for years (52 bars of gold). Aren't you now attacking his credibility by challenging what he's posted for years?

Absolutely Not :o Just the Amounts Since no One Lately, Other Then The feds Know the Weight of the amout taken out

Just the Amounts
The "amount" is a fact of the legend. The finder has posted for years this fact of the legend and thus, this has become his "fact". You say the fiscal report "only proves the amount may have been wrong or exaggerated".

Proved how? Nobody can even prove the legend! Nevertheless, 52 bars is the amount the finder has always based his claims on. Why attack his fact, on the basis of this fiscal report "proving" the amount wrong or exaggerated?

As for the weight of the amount taken out.... Weight of what? Amount of what? Taken out of what? Nothing found was the official statement. Nothing in all the folders of investigative files released or any eyewitness testimony provided anywhere refutes the fact that nothing was found.

Can everyone see the hypocrisy in propping up a legend that has no factual basis and then debating the make-believe facts of the legend? It would have been better for the legend to just remain that, a legend. Instead, the finder's greed is what led to the END of the Dents Run legend and forever tainted an otherwise benign treasure tale.

So what now do folks have left of the legend to share with generations to come, should they really now embrace unfounded conspiracy theories, with no factual basis of a government absconding with treasure and pass those on to the youth? I don't think it's in the best interest of a Mod at TNet to support that logic. Respected members deserve discussions that are fact based, they deserve better.

I am not sure if the treasure and find is in fact true or not.

But he must have had some pretty convincing evidence to get the FBI to do a search.
More evidence than a witch told him.

That was a major expensive for the FBI to mount a search like that.
Someone high up was convinced. This wasn't just a couple of agents looking in the woods.

and they refused to let him watch.
even from a distance .

all they showed him was an empty hole.
Which is No Proof at all !

Want More ???

They Refuse to Show him all the Records !

Either they Found Something , or they wanted Them to Think they Found Somehing :dontknow:

Yes, this is a common point of contention from those who have not taken the time to read the court docket and the mass of information released in the investigative files. There is no doubt after reading those files, as to why the investigation took place and why the resources committed were commensurate to the task.

I would presume the most "convincing" probable cause might have been the investigator's own contractor who after surveying the site with a gravimeter device interpreted the field data in such a way that yielded a target with a mass and density consistent with gold (important- they never said gold) and said target was to be only within a foot of the ground surface and maybe as deep as 5 or 6 feet. Who wouldn't jump to rush out there and ground-truth that?

Unfortunately, sometimes the interpreted results of the most sophisticated instruments and software programs don't turn out to be what everyone hopes they would be when core drilled or dug to ground-truth them. This appears to be the case here as even the finder will admit to being on site when the targeted area was dug to full depth as well as having hidden trail cams capturing images of nothing being found.

all they showed him was an empty hole.
Which is No Proof at all !
An empty hole is proof of an empty hole. The finder, by his own admission and posted images, had operating, hidden trail cams throughout the time the hole was dug which also show "proof" of an empty hole. The finder was allowed to watch. He has admitted being allowed on site and investigative records corroborate this with dates and times he was on site. Again these are the facts.

As for giving "all the records"... nobody is just arbitrarily given all law enforcement records at the drop of a hat. The finder is entitled to request the records and he has exercised his freedom and received those and then filed suit for even more. The court case is ongoing and recently the judge ordered additional searches that did locate more potentially responsive records, about 1,700 pages, I believe. The judge will soon review any responsive records in-camera before ruling again. Again, these are the facts.

Why is nobody talking about the many tons of pirate silver and jewels that were claimed to have also been “found” there as well? Is it that we all like a good treasure story and there was not one for the pirate booty?

I Don't argue or Comment Over Sarcasic Attacks & False Information.

Jeff, I don’t have selective memory or a bias.

I followed along every post. In fact on one of my devices, I probably have screenshots of the threads that got deleted after the member was banned. It stood out enough that I thought of preserving it.

Nothing like that had ever happened here by a legitimate poster. Maybe old SILVER might come close with their interesting drama.

There was a systematic timeline of every court paper, ruling that was basically wiped clean from this forum.
Yet the truth is still been shown on another forum as each ruling has become public knowledge.
Yet some enforce they're powers on this forum to keep this story alive.

There has been more members banned than any gold ever produced because of this story.
The actual truth of this long dragged out story is, the credibility of this forum has suffered a negative viewpoint by many respected people.

The actual truth of this long dragged out story is, the credibility of this forum has suffered a negative viewpoint by many respected people.
and... as the evidence has come to light, it is clear that those respected members who were banned were way ahead of the curve in comprehending what had transpired and who was really twisting the truth.

Who Was Banned Because Of This Story ?
I Am unaware of Anyone Being Banned Because Of This event.

IF, IF Anyone was Banned, I am Absolutely Sure it was Because They
didn't Follow the rules Then attacked Moderation instead.

I Know our Moderators !
