Hey everyone ,
I got out today for about 3 hours and hunted two schools and one park . I found great amount of clad , $14.95 ! The one good find was this little sterling ring with Donald Duck on it . It's pretty worn and broken , looks old . Does anyone know about how old? I thought maybe late 50's early 60's ? It's number 80 for the year .
HH
Glen

Congrats on #80 Glen! :notworthy:

That ring does look to have some age to it, might be worth quite a bit as a collectible if restored! :icon_thumright:

Almost looks deco to me---30's? Wild guess. When did DD begin? I think MM was 1929, and DD was probably right behind.

nice old ring!!! MR TUFF

Really cool :icon_thumright: Me thinks it's the end of the 40s or beginning of the 50s little thingy by WDP. I believe it was once enamelled. Enamel is usually 'eaten up' by any soil especially if you found it in a sandy one.

I believe it's from the early 50's, don't think it was ever enameled. Staring at his brother as I write this, same down to the cut/break on the thin area of silver.
Ain't silver sweet?
Carl

The ring is in the "Overstreet Toy Ring Guide" listed as 1950's with no colors enameled on it. Shows it just as you found it but without the break. My edition is quite old and would hate to put a value on it. You may be able to find a recent book somewhere and get a better idea.

Thanks everyone for info on this ring . It looks like it is a bit older than I thought . :hello2:

Hello, :hello:

Ummm, this ring could have some value to it.... :o Any markings on it ? :icon_scratch: With any Disney memorabilia, If it has a Disney Hallmark/tag or you can prove its made by Disney then its worth way more. 2nd hand Disney items are not worth as much as original Disney items. :icon_thumleft: Regardless who made this ring though it still has more than scrap value to it. :headbang:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D

I would not be that categoric about it, guys. Saw a couple of enamelled ones on auctions. Here is an exact copy of an enamelled version.Donald Duck Ring.webp. Its price guideline is around $150 if original WDP.

I was able to see the markings with a loop . One side has C W D P and the other is Sterling . It has a mark before the word sterling but I can't make it out .

I'm not sure of the Disney Logo or Hallmark, something you may have to research. :icon_thumleft: My guess was right, I imagine a $100 ring but :dontknow: worth way more than the maybe $8.00 in scrap you could get for an ordinary modern silver ring in good condition. :headbang: (Wholesale) Way to go, awesome find and worth holding as an investment !! :icon_thumleft:

You know this is so unique, :icon_scratch: I'm going to give you a banner vote !! :icon_thumleft:
