Found at mill site. It's copper and looks formed for a purpose didn't know what I could have been used for

Yes. That may not be what it is but I've definitely seen bags tied with crimps like that.

Bag tie is a good idea for that . What about a key chain for large old keys? Maybe belt clip hanger? I'm throwing darts here
