Looks like DX ####. I can't make it out but lots of carb numbers start with DX. Looks like the housing for a single induction carb.

DX 3 is what I can make out on the OP's carb.

Down-draft. The air comes in from the top and goes out the side.

Just rebuilt one on my Ford 640.
