Detector(s) used
Garrett GTI 2500 & XL500 SEAHUNTER-PULSE
I got the urge, today to head out to a cornfield, about 25 miles from where I live, that used to be a fairground until the early 1950's. The corn had been picked but the farmer had, only, shredded about 12 rows near the road and the rest of the field was in corn stubble. I detected the, easily accessible, 12 rows and will go back when the field has been worked up, better. In about 1 1/2 hours, I dug up an 1899 barber quarter, a 1941 Wash. quarter, 1920 plain Merc., a 1936 D Merc, a 1944 Merc, and a 1920 wheat cent. I hunt this field each yr. and it has been very bountiful with silver over the years. It would be better, each yr., if he would deep plow it to churn up the deep coins. I found these with my Garrett GTI 2500 with a 12.5" Proformance spider coil. I love that detector for field hunting.

S1,

very nice finds. All that silver, and you have
done it for several years. Wow.

Good work on knowing it was a fairground.

have a good un...............

Great digs! And in unusually nice condition, too, for coins from a farm field. Between disc harrows and chemical fertilizers, a lot of them really get roughed up. Looking forward to seeing what else this year's "harvest" holds!

That Barber is FANTASTIC! Those are my fav finds...very well done...congrats to you.

nice coins! love working the old fields. get yourself a deepseeker and maybe you can chum up the old stuff on your own....

With finds like those........

I think I'd be offering to plow it for him!!
Great batch of finds.

Now that's what I call good pickens. Nice coins, I hunt fields all the time. Love to get out in
the open, with no one to bother you and just enjoy the fresh air.

Thanks for the pictures, those are really some nice coins.

Awesome finds. That's only 12 rows?? You've dug this for years??

You have one of the very best spots I have ever heard of!!

This got me to thinking...Maybe I should be out hunting some of the areas where folks grow huge pumpkin patches and take people on hay rides to pick their pumpkins....Sure couldn't hurt eh?
