could tis be a small musket ball from civil war.???? i know its not a sinker.

A little background like where you found it, how deep was it, etc. stacycouch!
 

Looks too new. Should have a nice patina on it. Most come out of the ground a white color but in red clay soil areas they will have that red tint to it.
 

It is definitely not a musketball, it is too small. It is most likely a rifle or pistol ball, no way to tell which. If you measure it you can tell the caliber, looks like it may be around a .45.

Its the size of a pistol shot but without the patina, its not going to be 100+ years old.
 

36 caliber pistol ball. It should be white with patina.
 

I agree with the others. Unless found in water, something that old should have a chalky white patina on it.
