These past few days have been amazing as two friends and I have gone on a several day dig. (All finds will be posted in the near future). Today was the last day and we decided to return to some 18th century cellar holes we located last year. I managed a few buttons, and a knee buckle. My friends got a few coins. I had not found a coin while at the site since last year. As we were walking down an old path, getting ready to go through the deep woods to get to the car I got a solid coin signal. To me it sounded like a copper while my friend thought it may be silver. He dug the hole about a foot down and then I got in there with the pin pointer. I scooped out some dirt and a stone and that’s when I saw a large round object with a missing piece. I gave it a quick wipe and saw the face of Carlos III and we all started cheering and yelling. We thought it was a big silver, which it sort of was... it wasn’t high enough on my machine and sure enough I saw there was a copper core but with a fairly substantial silver layer. An awesome way to end our adventure!
