I went out on a club hunt in Dutchess County on Saturday and had a few nice finds. The 1787 Connecticut pictured came from the club hunt as well as the Standing Liberty Quarter, sterling ring and bar. I know of at least 2 other colonials that came out of the club hunt.

I've also been poking around some other spots and came up with some interesting finds including a bird band, suspender buckle pat. 1872, a few Indians including a 1909, 1906 Canadian copper and some misc buttons an buckles. I also found a 174? George II Irish half pence. This was another new spot I tried. Got out my CTX3030, turned it on and 3 minutes later popped it right out. Thought this was going to be great. Over then next 2 hours I found nothing. I found the musket ball about 15' from this unusual bell. I've found crotal bells before, but nothing that ever looked like this. Very solid brass/bronze with what appears to be the number 16 on it. Any help with an id would be appreciated.

One last thing, I don't usually post clad stuff, but I found a pocket dump which included 2 dollar coins, a Sacagawea and a Susan B Anthony. I don't think I've ever found either one of those.

Wow....... nuff said. Ok maybe not.....WOW :laughing7:

Nice bunch of finds, like the ring....

Some very nice finds there! That bell is sweet....I dug a saddle shield just like the one you have there with the Prince of Whales feathers on it. I dont know much about it but definitely colonial. Awesome finds!

Someone else had told me it was a saddle shield or bridle shield. It was found on one of the oldest thoroughbred breeding farms in NY.

Nice assortment of finds! I like your suspender clip with the patent date. Colonial coppers are always fun to find. I consider the little shield shaped pieces as leather strap tippets or finials and I have seen them in that context.
