HEY GUYS AND GALS

These are some finds by my cousin ED from his last 2 or hunts.

He is 62 and just started detecting this January and has since become an ADDICT...gets the best of us !!!!

His detector is the F75 using the small coil and ALL METAL/SENSE 60.....noisy as hell but he is making due with it.

Some very interesting finds.......any help on IDs would be muchly appreciated..he is very excited to find out .

The first 2 items he pulled putta small spot we pounded 2 days together and him alone 3 days....I was very surprised that he pulled these 2 items outta the same exact spot today. Guess he is learning fast.

These are saltwater finds.... obviously as the ground is frozen harder than you know what !!!

First Item Looks Like The Base Of A Candle Holder.

Was thinking the same.. but the piece of metal going across is broke on both sides....if is a candle holder..what woulda been its purpose..and where would the candle be.

Looks like Ed's off to a running start too, let him know he too is a lucky guy to have the history in the area you guys hunt

The candlestick base? is neat, the pewter? button that says London England is different too, and the brass thingy with the raised bumps is a broken piece, it would be circular or oval whole, and be fitted to a corresponding piece that fit on the edge of a tarp or sail, a grommet for a rope to go through; and hooks are cool, can't say about their purpose though

Tell him to keep at it and he'll have great collection before too long

Was thinking maybe the LONDON ENGLAND button thing could be a bale seal ??

Brass thingy with bumps...that would be a nice piece if it was whole...ty for tthe ID.

Think he will be at it for a long time..he is a avid deer hunter...so the thrill of the hunt is alive and well in him.

He has fished with me for 13 years...last year I would take my good finds aboard the boat and show him.. he been itching bad to get a detector ever since.

It's so cool when someone picks up this hobby and gets sucked in. I don't mean to sound over dramatic here but it is a bit life changing for some of us and injects a lot of joy and peace into some lives. I know it had an effect on every aspect of my life. My job can get a bit stressful at times and detecting allows me to clear my head and go back to work with a great attitude and a certain amount of calm and clarity. I think the poor fellas that I supervise are glad I picked up this awesome hobby too :-)

Not over dramatic....

It is the one thing I can truthfully say that completely takes my mind to another place....removes all stress and the last thing I think about is troubles or work etc.

Is the best hobby I have ever taken up in my life. Almost therapeutic !

Congrats to your cousin Ed! The round thing does look like it maybe a candle holder. The larger hook looks like it get stitched onto something. (Pisssssst AQUA, did you tell Ed there is no turning back now?). Lol!
