looks interesting, if not reproduction could be near eastern bronze age, or native american north or south, take pictures of base, should have burn marks, as it may have been fired alongside a camp fire set up, if it is very light weight it has a better chance of being original, as pottery looses weight due to moisture evaporation over long period of time, I would send images it to both near eastern and america's dealers of pottery and antiquities,
along the chipped rim explore the pottery texture, if very fine it could be reproduction, if it is coarse with heavy granular texture, a mix of clay and Temper ( stone or shell, mica ) added to strengthen and heat up to encourage complete firing in thick walled ceramics,
in contrast light if it is real you may see evidence of spiral construction, where by the pot was constructed by coiling rolled bands of clay and then smoothed over.
