"Crooning" Cicada

This little creature showed up on my doorstep, "singing" his annoying song. But, was cooperative and posed for a pic.

I thought it was cool how his face looked kinda like the back of an old microphone.

They will drive you nuts when you have hundreds of them around your home, we had a lot of them in Missouri.

They are just popping up here and the cats are having a ball with them!

I kinda like the sound of them at dusk, but indeed the ones around me are nowhere near the decibels they are in the hot humid hardwood forest of the Midwest.
