2 more days at my "Killer" field site! These finds cover 3-19/20. It's ironic I was talking to my wife about the Flying Eagle CW Store Card, and showed her the flying Eagle Pennies on the web. The next day I found my first Flying Eagle penny. I didn't know it until I got home, as far as I knew, I had 2 Fatty Indians. Since I've never found one I didn't know they were thick like the Fatty Indians. The first thing I noticed was No Shield at the top of the Laurel Leaves, so my first thought was 1859 Fatty,What a SURPRISE when I looked for the date under a magnifying glass and saw the Flying EAGLE!!! I also found a dateless Fatty and 1865 Indian. I need help on the Eagle Button, I think it is Civil War but I'm not sure it is so tiny, maybe a cuff or uniform shirt button? Also found another shell button a complete horseshoe 2 more clay marbles a couple buckles and a ring. Pickens are getting very slim, I think I need to move on to another site, but it has given up 6-7 metal detecting first's for me! I included a picture of the FE Penny next to the Button for size reference.
