Like all of us I find a lot of crusty zink cents. some of them are really bad. What do you do with them I have a plastic 3 pound coffee container full of them. Really don't want to toss them, they are money and I have trouble throwing money in the trash, but they are getting out of hand and need to go away. thanks for any ideas

I thrown them out the window as I'm driving home normally.

A guy in our club saves them, and any other damaged coins he finds, until he has enough to fill one of those $10 USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes and then ships them off to the Treasury Dept (if you google them you can find their address to send damaged money to) and after about a month he gets a US Treasury Dept check in the mail. He usually gets about $50 per box of coins.

Use them to buy yourself some time!

The next time you hit your favorite swimming hole, use them to "seed" behind you and hang up other detectorists that may otherwise find nothing and move on to an area that you may have not detected yet. Works great on long beaches.

Dont dig zinc signals LOL. Well that might take indian pennies away.

Really!?!?! Karma has you in it's sights.

When I am in a bar and I get crappy service from the bar attendant, I put my crusty zincs in the tip jar.

I am neither Buddist nor Hindu, so a belief in karma doesn't apply to me. On the positive side, I do believe you have a very devout, beautiful religion.

save them and put them in the salvation army kettle, then claim it as a cheritable contribution on your taxes.

I save my change anyway so what I do is take a few of the "bad, dug" pennies and mix them in with the newer ones. Maybe 5 or 6 to a roll of 50. I wait till I have a few hundred dollars in rolled change and make a deposit. I also use the black dimes and nickles that I dig the same way. Works every time. Tennessee digger

Sometimes when I dig a zincoln signal it turns into a silver ring....so I dig em.

Fair enough. I am not a member of any religion really but I do know that what comes around goes around. If you try to screw with other detectorist it's eventually gonna come back and bite you in the ass. Good luck with your future endeavors ::)

I give them to little kids to swallow when they start to get a cold.

I use the pennies (and any other crudie coins) to round up the change at drive-thru windows. Breezie

IF you can FILL a LARGE flat rate box with them, send them to me and I'll pay for your postage for the FLAT RATE PRIORITY MAIL box. NOTE: FLATE RATE PRIORITY BOX ONLY.
If you don't know what this is, ask the postmaster.
Just place a garbage bag inside the box, fill the box and then seal up the bag and the box.
That's if you can fill the box. No joke. If you're going to trash them anyway.....
Send me a PM.

The banks will all take them, even if they don't know it..........well, especially if they don't know it. Roll them and put about 5 or 10 good pennies at each end of the roll. When you have a bunch, cash them in. Easy.

Mine go in the trash. When I first started detecting I kept them, and always thought I'd fill an old mason jar and bury it at the base of a big old tree at some old park to give some other detectorist a little rush. In a good way. I believe in karm - I mean "what goes around comes around" - too... :tongue3:

I give them to my 6yo so he can practice using my old machine(bounty hunter pioneer 505) ;D
