🥇 BANNER CS buckle found in Goldsboro, NC this past weekend!!!

Finally, after detecting around Goldsboro for 26 years, I struck it big with this CS buckle. All 3 hooks in the back are fully intact as you can see. What a thrill. I have emailed a couple different appraisers. I found it with the Fisher F-75 LTD and it was about 4" deep. The area was a known Union soldier encampment. Thanks

Luke that is NOT considered a "clipped corner' buckle. Here is and example of a clipped corner buckle. Clipped corner buckles are typically sheet brass with the corners clipped to take away the sharp points. Gilligans buckle is cast brass and that style CS buckle is known as the "sardine can" style.

Beautiful,,, I thought a CS buckle was akin to finding the holy grail, when it comes to relic hunting.
I don't know your reasons for wanting to sell, but I would try to hold onto it for as long as possible. Great recovery.

I was confused as Luke said clipped corner, and you gave the example from the book of clipped, then stated Sardine Can. Having read a few descriptions that can be both ways like in these links.

The one from Champion looks thin and pressed, while the others Gilligans and the pinterest example look like they're casted.
