How did the cowboys out on the range deal with the mosquitoes at night? They kept dried up cow chips on a fire...the smoke kept the mosquitoes and other bugs away. So if I were you, I would consider burning cow chips at the camp.

Hey, I missed a call from WSD while in the doc's office today. Guess he was checking on Dan? Doing great!!! "Lost" his walker yesterday, been all over the yard the last two days, at a full breakfast and a full Arby's for lunch, excellent report from the doc. Had to lower his BP meds due to metabolism change due to loss of 43 lbs. and no smokes for 6 weeks now. Thanks to everyone!!! I'm keeping up with the hunt hype now; will be home with Dan until early next week. Then he's on his own and his nurses!!! I get to change the dressing!

Yeah, I was just at Wal-mart tonight looking at the Thermacell and other bug products that I'm going to get once I fly into Missouri.
I'd rather not depend on the "lingering smells of the night" to keep those bugs away! I'll likely have two Repel candles going by the tents, then use some 45% Deet spray on my clothes & arms, and some lighter non-Deet bug spray on my face and neck. Between the sprays and the Thermacell, things should be pleasant. I will do all I can to make sure those bugs are far, far away...

Who knows, maybe the weather will be nice enough so bugs aren't that much of a problem.
Hopefully Burdie can let us know how bad they are, and what to expect upon our arrival.

I'd rather not depend on the "lingering smells of the night" to keep those bugs away!
