Evy...I tried the whole family in law enforcement thing getting out of jury duty...dad was sgt at the sherrifs office...mom head of dispatch....myself having worked in law enforcement....STILL ended up having to show up....of course I immediately got thrown off the jury for the drunk driving trial when the defense attorney asked if I was familiar with an intoxylizer and I said VERY...he asked how....told him I had run the doggone machine a LOT......hmmm suddenly I was kicked off the jury but they used up one of their folks to boot off without cause cuz he didn't wanna say why! lol Unfortunately I still had to be there for over an hour that morning before he did that and the judge told me I could go home!

I had to show up an they said my reason I would have to tell the judge when questioned.... so there I am an waiting they kept letting people off they all knew the accused or his family or the victim or his familyh or one lived next door to his boss! But they got them seated just in a nick of time for me, I have not been chose 2 times now ! And I am glad I not on this one comming up a x ADA is going on trial for taking contraband (evidence) $$ out of safe in office!

WSD, I had jury summons scheduled for 9:00 on Tues, 27th. Alden's doctor's appt @ 10:30 the same day. Well, you had to wait till 4:30 the day before to call, well the recording stated it was canceled. Thank goodness for that. Had my doctor's slip to excuse me just in case.

I'm getting antz in my pantz awaiting for next Thursday to arrive. This time next week, I'll be on the road. But, I'm getting everything ready to go.

Just got back from the doc's.I took a bunch of brownies and two large Sonic cherry limeaids for my special two gals there and they said not to worry that they will handle it and that they would mail everything back to the court.Now to see if I'm in jail or not next week.

Had this before...like a hot pepper jelly, mix with cream cheese to make a spread for crackers, are slab some on fried turkey. In other words, don't make a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with it.

Hope I make the hunt!Yesterday I received one of those thick things in an envelope from the U.S. District court in K.C.,Mo.about jury duty.Heck,KC is 120mi from me,but that doesn't matter to them.They are the big boys!So I'm sending them all of my associates(Rowdy Bunch/with pics) in the CTH,hoping they will disqualify me.Gotta go see one of my docs,the young inexperienced one,and have him attach a note that I could expire at anytime and should not be subjected to KC traffic because of my out-of-sight blood pressure and maybe a few other medical problems.Wish me luck.

Yeah, a medical deferral is the best way to be excluded from jury duty! That's how I got my exemption. I was surprised being a retired cop didn't exempt me in Florida. Defense attorneys will pretty much always use one of their challenges to disqualify an ex-cop. Even if their client is innocent........
Anyway, good luck Ron, the stuff from your Doc should do it!!!!

I got out of jury duty down here in Florida because when they sent it to me, I was still up in Missouri attending college.
So I just told them I live in another state and sent it back.

Then once I got down here last summer, I got another jury duty request from MISSOURI () asking me to appear back in Springfield... and I happily let them know that I now live in Florida, so I will regrettably be unable to attend.

Anyway, so long to both of those jury duty requests...

lol no kidding...try having your front door be a public entrance to a front office....you never know WHO is gonna show up and how long they figure your time is theirs since you don't get to choose whether you answer the door or not! lol

Okay....I am going to post the countdown tomorrow....atleast that is the plan. Miss Evy is in the hospital from her tick bite...getting pumped up with antibiotics, steroids and pain meds. They tell her at least one night stay.....I have the direct line for the hospital room for anyone that wants to call and tell her to get out of bed! Sounds like things should be good by tomorrow though....atleast that is the plan. I told her I was frustrated she missed my funny tick post on facebook this morning I posted in her honor so I had to tell her what it said and the responses.
