Curious as to a good Concealed pistol for beach detecting

I am looking to get a good firearm for beach detecting protection. Something concealed of course and can handle a the saltwater environment. I am not looking to submerge it as it would go in a dry box when I decide to hit the water.

Some years ago now I was KO'd at a city park, never knew what hit me. Had my headphones on and was completely unaware of anyone around me. If I'd been carrying it would have done me no good at all.

Your goal should be awareness. Them headphones on sealed me off from the real world, and I awakened with a nice lump on my left forehead. I was fortunate in that I wasn't robbed.

The Bersa Thunder 380 is a great choice. It was #1 in a top 10 list of best CC pistols under $400. Bersa is made in Argentina and supplies their military with weapons.
It looks like a Walther PPK and the frame is a matte nickle finished aluminum alloy which is practically impervious to salt water.

Trust me I know all about situational awareness from many years of military service and I only detect at beaches that are pretty wide open. I typically hunt with a friend but sometimes alone. I was thinking of a nice compact 9mm semi auto glock or sig.

Go with a revolver.Quick, simple, easy,never seen one jam.A revolver in stainless steel is hard to beat.I picked up a charter arms Bulldog .44 special,stainless steel.+P rated.3 inch barrel.

As another plus it will digest 3 types of .44 rounds..44 special,.44 colt and .44 russian.Ballistics for a run of the mill .44 special round equals that of a .45ACP round.+P rounds go a bit better.

Glocks are Number 1. Reason why many city police and sheriffs dept use them. Pretty impervious to saltwater, and sand, wash off after dunking, but that would be my first choice for a CC pistol in that environment. 9mm is a great pick. 25 auto is way to tiny, 380 is good, 9mm a little more powder, and a 40 too much lead.

And true revolvers never jam. A 44 is a whopper and a heavy one. If I had to carry a big pile of lead in my pocket or holster, I would not want a lot of it. But of course it has the most knock down. I would think a light 9 mm would be fine.

.44 and .45 have proven themselves man stoppers for over 100 years.9mm are basically glorified .38s.If .38 isn't good enough neither is 9mm.Matter of fact I just saw some about a cop that shot a suspect 4 times with a 9mm,he still had to run after the guy.Get hit 4 times with a .44 or .45 you're not going g anywbere.LOL.

Yup except except mine is updated,ejection rod shroud, and partial hammer shroud.You can still manually cock it.

In the 1980's military policewomen were issued the .38 revolver and the men used the 1911 .45

I carry either my Springfield XDS .45 or my Judge .45, just depends on what I am carrying that day.

I carry a Hi-point 9mm...(when hunting/night/etc.) It's cheap to replace, fires well, and lifetime warranty. Mine went through a house fire after owning for 2 years and they took mine in and sent me a new one...LIFETIME WARRANTY/CHEAP...

The Sig 365 9mm sub compact holds 10+1, had some issues early on but have rectified

Just replace your shaft with an AR15 by mounting your coil and control boxes on the picatinny rails.
