Curious find

I was along the Eagle river and wanted a pic of this sign. I looked down and saw the bike helmet below it. It had been there a while and I couldn't find any tracks around. It kinda bothered me so I put it in a plastic bag and took it home. Even stranger, the device is a transmitter for a remote control dog training collar. I called the local SO, but they had nothing up right now, but said they'd call if anything came up.

The misspelling of 'visible' is what caught my eye, too.

The transmitter (with collar) is worth about $300. Don't know about the helmet. I can't feature somebody riding off on their bike w/out it. I'm trying to check lost/found ads for the area now.
