hi, my wife found her first cut reale in a farm field here in maryland. i do not know much about them, is there anything that can be told by these pics. thanks jeff

Minted in Seville and likely it was cut from a 2 Reale. The weight or a picture with a know item for reference will give an idea of the original coin.

An 8-reales coin will weigh about 27 grams. You can then determine what your coin originally weighed (before being cut into quarters) and its denomination--an 8,4 or 2 reales.
